===== Description =====
A step-swaged steel tube made by Torrington of Coventry, based on a Lotus car steering-column design. Carries the drive gear, splined sleeve, the pedal freewheel and both rear wheels. Bearing and support-housing bolts 8–10 Nm (Hoover inspection sheet).
